The Rog Mahal Concert Series is a silly name but a good idea: to provide a quiet and respectful musical venue in a lovely setting for exceptional performers and appreciative audiences, held at the home of Roger & Ingrid Linn in the north Berkeley hills.

The music is usually acoustic with an emphasis on quality musicianship from artists in the jazz, world music and folk fields. All of the entry fees go to the performers, except for a little bit to help us pay for for wine and post-dinner desserts and snacks, which are provided at no additional charge. The concerts occur at no regular schedule but rather whenever a exceptional performer is available. The evenings usually consist of two sets of 30-45 minutes each, insuring that you don't have to sit too long. There is also plenty of time before, between and after the sets to meet others who value music and ideas.

The Rog Mahal Concert Series is not advertised and concert invitations are only sent to those on our email list. If you would like to be added to our email list, please send us an email. Also, please feel free to pass this web address on to anyone who would be interested and would be an appropriate guest in a private home.

Shameless Self-Promotion about Roger Linn

If you're interested in hearing some traditional Italian instrumental music, I (Roger Linn) perform on mandolin on the 1st and 3rd Mondays evenings of each month from 7 to 9 at Caffe Trieste in Berkeley, accompanied by pianist Bruce Zweig. Collectively, we are called Trovatore. Caffe Trieste is located at 2500 San Pablo Avenue at Dwight. Come on down and let your mind float off to Italy while having some great food and the bay area's best espresso. If I keep practicing, maybe someday I'll be good enough to play at the Rog Mahal. And if you'd care to know about my real job, visit www.rogerlinndesign.com.
